This site has become an Artistic Expression of Benjamin Foley, His passion for celtic history and folklore lead him to build this web project as well as a 50+ person clan set in the PC Game from Mythic Entertainment called Dark Age of Camelot. The Gaiscioch Na Anu clan, is the head of a 250 person alliance, lead by Benjamin's character Foglhadha. All art work, programming, and development has been performed by Benjamin Foley. Durring the progression of this endevor, Benjamin has further developed his ability to read and write Gaelic.
Technologically this site is a marvel. Its XML to Database transformation on a bi-daily basis, allows for unpresidented roleplay ability in game and out. The XML feed takes 10 XML feeds, merges them into 1 database that is then merged with user submitted data. Its contains a Event Wire which is used by over 300 participants in the game for receiving instant email notifications about various events taking place in game. Each character in the alliance recieves a dynamically generated character biography page where they can edit their stories, family history information, complete player designed quests, or view their progress. The Quest Engine allows players to develop their own in game quests for their clan members to complete for Family Honor Points, a out of game performance monitoring system.
Lastly, the site contains a story written exclussively by Benjamin called "The 10 Seeds of Anu". The story is based on characters in Mythic Entertainments Dark Age of Camelot, Celtic Folklore, and characters developed by Benjamin. It is a progressive online book that is being published on a chapter basis. Currently "The 10 Seeds of Anu" is nearing 45 printed pages and is expected to top off around a 120 page book.
All of these functions were developed using Coldfusion MX, CFML, HTML, Microsoft Access, Cascading Style Sheets, and Photoshop.
