Benjamin's role was giving this site a comforting and welcoming style while making the site both safe to use, and easy to navigate. What began as purely an informational directory quickly became one of the largest and most active support websites currently available. With the addition of both a discussion forum and a live chat room - neither of which can be indexed by search engines to preserve the saftey of the viewers - the BSN grew into an interactive community. In the Fall of 2001 the addition of the Internet Safety Focus Group helped raise awareness to the risks involved with using the web from unsafe locations. By reading over the precaustions and safety tutorials a user will now know how to properly protect themselves on the internet while surfing sites for help.
